AIA National Investors Conference 2017
A world in transition...
Politics, economics and interest rates...
Positioning portfolios for a new investment environment
Sunday 30th July - Wednesday 2nd August 2016
Surfers Paradise Marriott Resort and Spa
CELEBRATING 25 YEARS OF AIA
The world is changing. We have seen Brexit, Trump, etc., and these all have impacts on the investing landscape. As investors, we need more than ever before to understand the impacts and to be equipped to handle the changes.
Our 2016 conference was widely hailed as by far the best investing conference in the country. We were complimented on the impressive line-up of topics, speakers and the event overall. This year is shaping up to outdo our 2016 event.
The conference commences at 5pm Sunday 30th July with a keynote presentation by John Abernethy of Clime Asset Management
Sessions continue Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, finishing at 3:45pm on Wednesday 2nd August, followed by happy hour.
- The income stream will focus on interest rates, income stocks, hybrids, annuities, bonds and other fixed income.
- The Growth theme will aim to identify growth themes, growth sectors and growth stocks. Speakers have been asked to present actionable stock ideas in their talks and hold their content over until the conference.
- The Alternative Investments stream will present some alternative asset classes like separately managed accounts (SMAs), gold, property, agriculture, hedge funds and new technologies.
- The Superannuation stream will look at strategies to make the most of the new legislation, teach Members how a large Superannuation Fund operates., look at alternatives to managing investments through an SMSF, look at retirement strategies and touch on subjects like Aged Care.
- The Strategy stream will include an element of Stock Market education as well as touching on more diverse subjects like Taxation, Estate planning, Disruption, and your kids.
We have some of the top fund managers, economists, analysts and commentators presenting this year and over and above the requirement to dazzle, especially in the Income, Growth and Alternative Investment streams, our speakers have been asked to present specific stock and investment recommendations that our Members can action. You will have to be at the Conference to get to the head of the pack.
Majoring on transitioning to the new investment opportunities
This year we are majoring on a world in transition and how to approach it as an investor. The equities market is currently a difficult place for investors, and we believe that it is now more important than ever for members to have their own clear strategy to survive the volatility, and achieve their required reward for the risk that they are prepared to run.
You will not be locked in to all the sessions within a stream. If you seek comprehensive coverage of the matters addressed by the stream, you may attend all the sessions related to that stream, but you are free to choose. The speakers and session outlines are provided in greater detail in the conference brochure and session outlines.
